It was difficult to look for a place to eat in SM Megamall last weekend as it seemed like almost all of Metro Manila was there. Thank heavens, we were able to spot the glowing green signage of Triple O’s and saw that there were still available seats inside this new burger joint.
Triple O’s by White Spot is apparently the newest craze in Manila. Hailing from Canada, this burger chain is also found in Singapore, Hong Kong and China.
It’s a no-frills fast food restaurant. Line up, order, pay, sit and wait for your food to be served.
Don’t forget to share your experience and you might see your post on this social media screen.
The prices of the food in Triple O’s gave me a minor heart attack. An ala carte Original burger is worth Php 200.00. But with the promise of having Canada’s “sauciest, juiciest, tastiest and bestest burgers around,” we were willing to shell out money to try out the burger chain’s bestsellers, which, according to their servers, are Bacon Cheddar and Monty Mushroom.
On the table:
Bacon Cheddar Combo: Php 390.00. + Php 70.00 Upgrade to Onion Rings. +Php 100.00 Upgrade to Vanilla Milkshake
Monty Mushroom Combo: Php 400.00. + Php 100.00 Upgrade to Chocolate Milkshake
Triple Yes
I loved their ginormous golden onion rings. It was very flavorful that I didn’t have to dunk it in the dip to enjoy it.
It’s been a while since I had a milkshake, and Triple O’s didn’t disappoint. I delighted in every bit of my Chocolate Milkshake, but I must say, its price is quite hefty for its size. A small milkshake costs Php 150.00 while a regular one costs Php 200.00. I added Php 100.00 to my combo meal to get a quick fix of this cold, creamy goodness.
Triple No
The Monty Mushroom Burger is supposedly made of awesome: Canadian beef patty, Monterey Jack Cheese, grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomato and the secret Triple “O” sauce.
Sadly, the only thing I enjoyed in this burger is the soft and airy buns. I could’ve finished the whole thing as I was really hungry, but I was only able to consume half because it was very bland.
Just Okay
Another best-selling burger of Triple O’s is the Bacon Cheddar, which has Canadian beef patty, hickory smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and the secret Triple “O” sauce.
I didn’t find anything special with this burger, but at least it tasted something, thanks to the hickory smoked bacon. Other than that, it’s just an overpriced big serving of burger.
Overall, my experience in the newly opened Triple O’s by White Spot is something I won’t easily forget. I felt like we were ripped-off a good-tasting burger with the price that we paid for. If Triple O’s wants to capture the heart of the Filipino market, they might have to rethink their pricing and flavouring.
Until then, I am going to go find a burger that Jughead Jones will definitely approve of and enjoy.
Triple O’s by White Spot is located at 3F, SM Mega Atrium, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City
Open from Monday to Sunday, 10AM to 10PM
Aww it does sound like a rip off. Would have expected more myself since the price is pretty steep for a fast food burger. After reading this review, we might not try this joint at all.
Kaya pala nilalangaw ito. Hubby and I had lunch at the resto beside it one weekday and lahat ng resto sa paligid may mga taong kumakain yan totally empty.
true. Masyado siyang mahal yung burgers for the taste. Pero keri naman yung milk shakes nila 😛
I don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon.
