Tour for the Taste Buds: Best Food Forward 2014

You can just tell how much people love desserts by the number of sugary entries in this year’s Best Food Forward. We saw a lot of cupcakes, cookies, chocolates, and more cakes! No wonder everyone in the venue seemed to be in a heightened sugar rush!

And so we went around tasting, buying, and asking (mostly tasting, actually) about the specialty recipes laid out before the guests that night. Sadly, because we came in a bit late, some of our favorites during the preview already sold-out all their goodies and ran out of samples to share. However, there were much more concessionaries than in the preview, so we eagerly searched and wandered around for some good food – wallets and taste buds on the ready. Here is a recap of our “trip” in pictures:
One of the best I’ve tried. Calamansi Cheesecake from Indulgence by Irene!

I’d definitely love to try the rest of the flavors of these coated apples from The Bad Apple

Golden Spoon, too bad they didn;t have samples to give out.

Voila Jars! One of my favorites!

Tapa from Tapa Heaven. What’s interesting is their Croc Tapa (yes, it’s crocodile meat!). Sadly, I didn’t get the chance to try one of those.

My personal favorite that night was the puto-flan. It was such a simple idea yet still innovative and delicious that one couldn’t help but think, “why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?” I’d sure love to have more of those!

Were you also in Best Food Forward 2014? What was your favorite? If not, what would you like to try?
