When it comes to steak, I’ve had my fair share of overhyped spots, but Steak and Frice in BGC is different. I’m telling you now, their steak deserves a solid 10/10, and I’m not exaggerating. The best part? You can also refill your rice and fries, so trust me, you’re getting your money’s worth. It’s one of those places where you can bring friends and family knowing that it will be a sure hit—this place delivers! Steak and Frice Review: Location and Atmosphere
Steak and Frice is tucked in BGC, a prime location for casual yet slightly fancy dining. The vibe is more laid-back than intimidating, so you won’t feel out of place in your everyday clothes, but the food presentation makes you feel like you’re getting the fancy steakhouse experience.
Appetizers: A Strong Start
We began our meal with the Onion Flower and Dad’s Basketball Sauce (₱430), and let me tell you—this appetizer is a must-try. I’m giving this a 9/10. It’s flavorful on its own, with a smoky and slightly salty BBQ taste. You don’t even need the sauce to enjoy it, but the Dad’s Basketball Sauce adds a nice kick that rounds out the dish. Perfect start!
Next up was the Singaporean Chili Crab Cake (₱980). Okay, let’s be honest—this one’s on the pricey side for what it is. While it’s generously packed with crab meat, the flavor didn’t wow me as much as I’d hoped. I’ll give this a 7/10, but you might want to skip it unless you’re really into crab.
Pasta Dishes: Rich and Creamy
The Truffle Cream and Corn Mafaldine (₱450) was a pleasant surprise. Before it even landed on our table, we could already smell the truffle, and it didn’t disappoint. The rich, creamy sauce had a strong truffle flavor, balanced with a bit of sweetness from the corn. If you’re a truffle fan, this one’s for you. 8/10 for this dish.
Another pasta on our table was the Pink Sauce Pappardelle with Bacon (₱450). The “pink sauce” had me guessing if it was a mix of tomato and cream. The salty bacon cuts through the richness of the sauce, which makes it less overwhelming. A solid 8/10 here, though it’s not as unique as the truffle pasta.
The Main Event: The Steak
Now, let’s talk steak because this is where Steak and Frice shines. We tried both the Striploin and Ribeye (₱3,650), and hands down, the ribeye takes the crown. Perfectly seasoned, the steak doesn’t even need the three sauces that come with it, although they’re good options if you like variety. The meat is so tender it practically melts in your mouth. For steak lovers, this is a 10/10, no questions asked. Pair it with both steak rice and fries, plus you get one refill that you can share—yes, you heard that right. Refillable sides for a high-end steak? I’m all in.

Sides and Dessert
If your budget can stretch a bit, add the Grilled Asparagus (₱450). Yes, it’s expensive for a side, but it complements the steak well if you’re in the mood to splurge.
For dessert, we shared the Crème Brulee Cheesecake (₱380), Triple Chocolate Cake (₱390), and the Vanilla and Strawberry Millefeuille (₱350). If you have to choose just one, go for the Crème Brulee Cheesecake—it’s creamy, decadent, and worth every peso. The chocolate cake and millefeuille were good, but not as memorable.
Final Thoughts
Let’s be real, Steak and Frice isn’t cheap, but for the quality of food, it’s one of those restaurants that you’ll save up for and look forward to going back to. The steak is the star of the show, and with refillable rice and fries on the side (just one refill), it’s a steak experience that’s hard to beat.
If you’re craving a top-tier steak and don’t mind dropping some cash for it, then this place should definitely be on your radar. Thanks for reading our Steak and Frice Review! Tara, let’s eat!
