Travelodge Harbourfront Singapore Review: Super Convenient for Sentosa + Universal Studios

If your Singapore itinerary has Sentosa and Universal Studios Singapore highlighted, starred, and underlined, then Travelodge Harbourfront is honestly a pretty smart pick. It’s not a “wow, luxury” hotel, but it’s the kind of place that makes travel easy, especially if you’re with family. Watch this travel vlog if you want to see our experience on video.

Why we booked Travelodge Harbourfront

We booked for three very practical reasons:

  1. May bidet. Yes, I said it. We specifically looked for hotels we’ve verified to have one, because… you know.
  2. Close to Universal Studios Singapore (and Sentosa in general), which was a major itinerary point for us.
  3. The beds are elevated, and that matters when you’re traveling with parents—my mom’s knees appreciated it.

How to get here from Changi Airport

Fastest and most convenient? Taxi. Full stop.

You can take the MRT or bus, but it can involve a lot of walking and several transfers, which is not the vibe after a flight, especially with luggage and older family members. We took a taxi and spent around ₱2,700 total. For four people, that felt pretty reasonable for comfort + convenience.

First impressions: small lobby, simple setup

The lobby is compact. You’ll see the reception desk, a few items for sale, a locker area where you can pick up Grab orders, and vending machines. This is also where breakfast happens—which, from first glance, doesn’t look super grand…because it isn’t. (More on that later.)

The Room Review

For our stay, we booked the Deluxe Twin Bed room, which was around USD 110 per night. Comfort-wise, no complaints. The beds were legit comfy, and the room felt clean the moment we walked in. Space is not huge, but it’s good enough for two people, especially if you’re mostly out exploring Singapore all day. It also came with all the basic necessities you’d want for a practical stay. The main downside is that the noise from the Skyfall rooftop bar can travel, especially at night, so if you’re a light sleeper (or you’re traveling with parents), the best tip is to book the lower floors

Amenities-wise, Travelodge Harbourfront is actually pretty thoughtful. On the 3rd floor, there’s a laundry area where you can do your laundry, spin dry, and even iron your clothes. Super useful if you’re doing a longer trip. Then on the 7th floor, there’s a pantry area that’s surprisingly handy: you can store food in the fridge, borrow plates and utensils, microwave meals, and even replenish some room supplies. It’s very “practical traveler” coded, and honestly, these little things make the stay feel easier.

Location: the main character

The biggest win here is the location. VivoCity is literally right across the hotel, so getting to Sentosa is ridiculously easy. From VivoCity, you can:

  • take the Sentosa monorail, or
  • walk your way in if you feel like it.

If you’re the type who wants to maximize time in USSG (and not waste it commuting), this is the kind of location that makes you feel like you planned your trip well.

The biggest downside: the convenience store situation

Here’s what annoyed us the most: the nearest convenience store is inside VivoCity, around a 10-minute walk away. And since it’s in a mall, it’s not 24 hours—so late-night snacks and water runs aren’t as effortless as you’d want.

Good thing the lobby has vending machines and some basic items for sale, but still… plan ahead.

Breakfast: basic, no frills

The breakfast buffet is simple. Not bad, not amazing, just enough. Also, you’ll basically eat in the lobby tables, so set expectations: this isn’t a “hotel restaurant experience.” It’s more “quick fuel then go.”

Pool + rooftop bar: chill… until it’s not

The pool is also simple—small, but enough if you have kids who want to splash around. It’s open 7AM–7PM daily.

Now, important tip: there’s a rooftop bar called Skyfall, open daily from 5PM. It can get loud at night. My sister and mom stayed at the 10th floor and they could still hear the music. If you’re a light sleeper, or traveling with seniors, book a room on the lower floors.

Getting around: easy public transport access

  • Bus stop near VivoCity: about 2 minutes away
  • HarbourFront MRT: about 5 minutes away

Our Final Travelodge Harbourfront Singapore Review

We enjoyed our stay overall, comfort was solid and the accessibility is the biggest reason to book. If your goal is to be near Sentosa and USS, Travelodge Harbourfront delivers. Just be aware of the non-24/7 convenience store issue and the potential rooftop noise on higher floors.
