Bakery Felt at Megamall is not your typical bakery. It’s a bakery-slash-concept store that offers buns and pastries that take classic Filipino flavors and give them a fun, creative twist. It’s the kind of place that piques your curiosity right from the get-go, and I knew I had to give it a try!
Case in point – their Tapsi Breakfast in Bed—a clever and quirky play on the classic tapsilog breakfast. But what really grabbed my attention were the names of their other savory flavors – Munggo Chismis, Laing Home-Cooked Meal, Adobo Power Punch, and Labuy Love Life. It’s like your favorite ulam (viand), but in bread form! Definitely a must-try for anyone who loves experimenting with food. You can watch my TikTok video below for a quick review:
But Bakery Felt isn’t just about savory options. They’ve got a solid lineup of sweet treats too. The “SL” Flan caught my eye, and I’m glad I gave it a shot. I really like this that I even ordered this again for takeout! The flan itself had a hint of dayap (lime) for that perfect mix of sweet and sour, and the calamansi cream added another layer of zing. To top it off, there’s a nutty crust at the bottom that gives it a nice crunch. It’s a flavor bomb in every bite!
If you’re more into chocolate, the Rum Night Out might be for you. It’s rich, indulgent, and decadent, but don’t expect it to be your typical sweet dessert. The dark chocolate, sourced from South Cotabato, combined with cacao nibs from Sultan Kudarat, gives this dessert a bold bitterness that’s balanced out by the rum. It’s a bit of an acquired taste, but if you love deep, dark chocolate flavors, you’ll probably enjoy it.
I had the Berry Heart-to-Heart for takeout, mainly because this one looked the prettiest lol. I don’t think the sweetness of the Baguio strawberries go well with the saltiness of the local peanuts though, so I won’t be ordering this again.
The server also recommended the Dark Choco Momol, which I’ll definitely try next time. I’m already excited to see what other surprises they have in store!
To wash it all down, I ordered their Calamansi Cheers drink, which came in this beautiful purple hue thanks to the butterfly pea tea. Refreshing, with just the right amount of sweetness—this one’s a winner.
Overall, it would’ve been a perfect 10/10 experience, but the cashier wasn’t the friendliest (haha!). So, let’s call it a 9/10 instead! Still, Bakery Felt at Megamall is a must-visit for anyone craving a fun twist on Pinoy flavors. Tara, let’s eat!
