For now, GrabFood is in beta, and is operating only in select areas of BGC. Here’s how you can order through the Grab app:

How to Order with GrabFood

  1. In your Grab app, select “Food” as the type of service you wish to avail. You’ll find this as a drop-down menu above the pick-up and drop-off options (by default, the service is set at “Transport”).

  2. Enter your delivery address. You may also search for cravings in the search bar. To ensure speedy deliveries, GrabFood limits the available GrabFood partner restaurants to those within a given distance from your location. grabfood delivery
  3. Select the restaurant you wish to order from. For now, the available restaurants in the selection are within BGC, Taguig City only. grabfood partners
  4. Select the meals you wish to order from the restaurant to complete the order. After you have selected the dishes you wish to avail, click “View Basket” grabfood menu
  5. From here you’ll see the estimated delivery time, breakdown of costs, payment, and an option to input a GrabFood promo.

Strangely, the delivery fee indicated in the app when we tried it is over Php 4K. We’re not sure yet if this is a bug given that the app is still in beta, but we have reached out to Grab Philippines’ Facebook page to clarify.
  6. Place your order and wait for your food.

Currently, GrabFood operates in BGC on weekdays, from 11am to 3pm. There is no minimum purchase however, there will be a delivery fee.

GrabFood is already available in beta in other countries such as Thailand and Singapore. It appears that Grab took over UberEats in SouthEast Asia as part of its acquisition deal.

There is also a standalone GrabFood app, although in the Philippines, this is integrated into the primary Grab app. This is expected to compete against other local food delivery apps, such as Foodpanda, Delivery Guy, Honest Bee, and Zomato.
