Less than three weeks before the release of Jerrold Tarog’s much-anticipated film, “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral”, TBA Studios released on their Facebook page the short film “Angelito”. Also written and directed by Tarog, “Angelito” tells the story of the brothers Manuel and José Bernal, two days after the death of General Antonio Luna in the 2015 film “Heneral Luna”.

The 20-minute movie follows the story of two of Gen. Luna’s most trusted men, Jose and Manuel Bernal, as they flee for safety in the wake of Luna’s brutal assassination. Shown through the eyes of their youngest brother Angel Bernal, director Jerrold Tarog shares that this story is a fictional tale loosely inspired by real historical events.
Alex Medina and Art Acuña, who play Jose and Manuel Bernal respectively, reprise their roles from “Heneral Luna”, together with Arron Villaflor as Joven Hernando. Carlo Aquino, Rafa Siguion-Reyna, and Jojit Lorenzo also joins the cast, while newcomer Tomas Santos plays Angelito.
“Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral” stars Paulo Avelino in the titular role. Produced by TBA Studios, Artikulo Uno Productions and Globe Studios, the film will open in cinemas nationwide on September 5.
