Virginia Krunchy Chicken Nuggets Recipe: Chicken nuggets have become a staple in my grocery list. It’s probably one the most convenient food items for a busy yuppie like me – it lasts long in the freezer, is easy to cook, and tastes really good! I especially love the part where you don’t even have to defrost it anymore; just pop it in the oven or air fryer, and you’re good to go!

I have several packs of Virginia Krunchy Chicken Nuggets and Krunchy Chicken Patties in my freezer for those days when I’m too lazy to cook an entire meal or too impatient to order online. I use this brand because it’s made with real chicken meat – you can tell because it’s meaty, juicy, and flavorful inside. On the outside, it’s breaded to crunchy perfection! This is my go-to breakfast food when I’m in a hurry because it’s super easy to prepare. It works well as an afternoon snack too!

Virginia Krunchy Chicken Nuggets are already good on their own, but they’re also the best canvas to experiment with different flavors. After all, the best part about chicken nuggets is that they can go well with a variety of sauces. One of my favorite versions is the Honey Lemon Chicken Nuggets. It’s sweet, tangy, and a bit spicy too!

Honey Lemon Chicken Nuggets Recipe (using Virginia Krunchy Chicken Nuggets)

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack (420 grams) of Virginia Krunchy Chicken Nuggets
  • ½ cup honey
  • ⅓ cup lemon juice
  • ½ cup water
  • 8 cloves of minced garlic (or more if you want!)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Pinch of red chili flakes
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Sesame seeds
  • Spring onions, chopped

Procedure:

  1. Cook the chicken nuggets according to package instructions, then let it cool. (Pro tip: when using an air-fryer, cook the nuggets for an additional 5 minutes for that extra crunch!)
  2. Mix the honey, lemon juice, water, minced garlic, soy sauce, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and chili flakes in a pan. Simmer in low heat for 3 minutes or until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat, then let cool.
  3. Pour the honey-lemon sauce over the chicken nuggets. It’s important that you let the sauce cool before pouring it onto the nuggets so that the nuggets don’t become soggy.
  4. Toss gently to coat all sides of the nuggets.
  5. Optional: Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions.

You can use the honey-lemon sauce as a glaze or as a dipping sauce for your nuggets. Goes well with the chicken patties too! I’m pretty sure this would also be a hit to the kids because of its sweet and sour flavor (just hold back a little on the chili flakes).
