“Desperate times, desperate measures.”

Mission Impossible Rogue Nation’s tagline may sound like a cliche but isn’t this what the film franchise is all about? But don’t judge the movie until you’ve watched it, you just might be surprised.

The fifth installment of Mission Impossible brings back IMF agent Ethan Hunt and his crew of smart and cunning field agents — William Brandt (Jeremy Renner),  Luther Stickell (Vhing Rames) and Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg).

The Impossible Missions Force is under scrutiny by the Senate as CIA Director Alan Hunley (Alec Baldwin) wants the unit shut down. Hunt is on a mission to prove the existence of The Syndicate, who he believes, is responsible for major accidents in the world.

Directed by long-time Mission Impossible collaborator, Christopher Mc Quarrie, Rogue Nation is like a ‘Greatest Hits’ version of the action-thriller. Mc Quarrie used all the effective elements and plots of previous MI films — incredible stunts, death-defying chase scenes, a mysterious woman that piques the interest of Hunt and a forgettable villain whose sole purpose in life is global destruction.

Critics say that the movie’s female supporting lead, breakout star Rebecca Ferguson, stole the show from Cruise with her impressive stunts and bad ass attitude. The Swedish actress played the role of Ilsa Faust, a disavowed MI6 double agent who turned rogue against both Syndicate leader Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) and MI6 director Ae (Simon McBurney). Pegg who plays lead in the upcoming movie Almost Anything, was a comic relief throughout the film as his character played crucial role towards the ending of the movie.

Filming for the sixth Mission Impossible started in May.
