Summertime in Singapore: Day 2

We packed our Day 1 at Singapore with R and R activities, knowing that the Digital Marketing Show (which is why we were in Singapore in the first place. I should stop being defensive, yeah?) would eat up a bulk of our schedule on days 2 and 3. Nevertheless, we still enjoyed our second day in The Lion City – sometimes good company is all it takes to make a day worthwhile.

First Day of Conference

We woke up early to get to Suntec City for the Digital Marketing Show. Marketers and brands meet to discuss advanced digital marketing, strategies, and new trends that we could expect in the digital arena.  The Speakers from Day 1 included guests from Twitter, Hewlett-Packard, LinkedIn, Youtube, and Facebook! I was pretty excited!

Brands showcased their innovative products and services in the exhibition area.

All eyes on Alexander Tran, Former Head of Engagement Marketing and Partnerships of Luxola. He talked about Winning in Social. I wish that he also mentioned if he was single.
The lunch that they served wasn’t bad either!
My learnings from Day 1 of the Conference not only introduced me to insights about how brands and marketers are approaching their Digital strategies today, but at the same time it validated what my workmates and I are trying to introduce to the brands that we work with back in the Philippines, in terms of blogging and social media.  This just made me more excited for the second day of the conference!

Dinner and Shopping at Ikea

The conference ended earlier than expected, so we had time to catch up with work and the emails piling up in our inbox. It wasn’t long though before we were on the road to have dinner at Ikea (I heard their meatballs are must-trys), and of course shop (I’m with ladies, remember?).

6 large chicken wings for only SGD 7.50

Swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and jam (yes, JAM!) – SGD 8,80 with soup.

Almond Butterscotch – SGD 3.50

I didn’t participate much in the shopping, but I can tell that the ladies had a great time. I’m already happy with my soft ice cream, thank you.

SGD 0.50 Ikea ice cream

Den Den seemed to be getting the hang of the self-checkout service.

In spite of Ikea being the only non-work related activity, Day 2 of our Singapore Trip (which is Day 1 of the Conference) wasn’t bad at all! Again, our feet were already complaining at the end of the day, so it was straight to the Hotel after Ikea. A representative from Google would be the first speaker on the second day of the Conference, so we should be up early for it!
