Scooping Sweetness: A “Bottled Confections – Pastillas in a Bottle” Review

A few days ago, I got a sample of bottled Parmesan Pastillas by Bottled confections from a nice client. If you have checked out some of my blog posts about food you probably know by now that I am not a huge fan of cheese (I know, I know, I’m missing a lot) which is why it was a bit of a surprise that I actually liked my sample, in spite of it being Parmesan flavoured.

As the name suggests, these pastillas are unlike the usual ones we know since these come in bottles instead of being wrapped individually like candy. The label says that you can use them as topping, spread, or just scoop them out and have a whole bottle for yourself (something which I found so hard to resist doing). Personally though, I didn’t find them to go well as spread since the consistency of the pastillas itself isn’t really that spreadable. It was great though as dessert and yes, one scoop really is never enough!
I got excited about trying the rest of their flavors because if I liked the Parmesan variety, I would probably love the rest of them. And Bottled confections was nice enough to give me samples of the rest oh so sinfully sweet selections. It came in a beautifully done, lovely box.

Presenting to you…

Pastillas in a bottle by Bottled Confections

Salted Caramel Butter

Maccha Pastillas

Peppermint Choco Wonderland

Ube Pastillas

My personal favorites were the Ube and Maccha varities. The ube variety reminded of me ube flavoured ice  cream (which is one of my favourite ice cream flavours!), while the maccha reminded me of green tea flavoured kitkat. Yum!

The salted caramel variety though was a bit too strong for my taste, while the peppermint choco’s scent was a bit overwhelming. But, these are my personal preferences in taste, you may love these flavours more than I do. Hey, I don’t like cheese, remember?

If you wanted to try all their flavours, you can order from Bottled Confections through their Facebook and Instagram accounts: @BottledConfections

Let me know if you’ve tried them and which flavour is your favourite J
