We’ve all been there. Sinimulan natin ang taon with the “Balik Alindog” Program (pero para mag apply sa’yo ‘to, dapat may alindog ka in the first place) – nag enroll sa gym, nag meal-planning, at kumain ng wheat bread. Pero wala eh, ansaraaaap talaga ng Crispy Pata.

Before you know it, patapos na ang taon, at panahon na rin for High School and family reunions. Alam mo na malamang sa malamang, merong magsasabi sayo ng dreaded comment:

“Uy, tumaba ka!”

While there may be nothing wrong with being chubby (chubby lang hah, hindi yung obese, unhealthy levels), di na po namin kailangan sabihan na tumaba kami. Most likely, alam na namin yon noh, especially kapag nararamdaman nating wala na tayong nasusuot na damit.

In no particular order, here are some witty (?) replies, in case somebody tells you na tumaba ka. Use at your own risk, hah?

Imitation is the best flattery nga, diba?

Instead of saying, “Ikaw din kaya!”

Kaso baka sabihan ka rin ng “Oo, malapad ka kasi eh”

“Akala mo lumapit ako dahil friendly lang ganon?”

“Wag mo muna kainin yan, pipicturean ko pa.”

Sabi nga ng isang commenter: “When you want to be respectful, but savage at the same time.”

“Malnourished na nga ata eh”

Big and Beautiful

“Naku, sana naman wala munang sumunod sa kanya”
